Mobile Gaming and Betting is a substantial industry experiencing exponential growth. There is currently no industry body focused on provision of collective representation, knowledge sharing, standard-setting and promotion for this industry.
AIME (the Association for Interactive Media & Entertainment) in conjunction with a number of its members have established a working group within AIME to focus on the Mobile Gaming sector.
The members of the forum will be drawn from the key players in the mobile gaming value chain for gaming, the Gaming gaming operators; the mMobile network operators, platforms and aggregators, media and rights owners, Mobile mobile betting and gaming technology providers and consumer-education focussed groups.
The objectives of the Mobile Gaming Forum within AIME will be…
- to establish a forum for collective representation and debate ofn issues relevant to mobile gaming
- including micro-billing,
- mobile marketing,
- establishing common mobile standards,
- creating channels of communication with other critical sectors in the chain, such as the mobile network operators and distribution channels.
- to identify the issues that face or inhibit the mobile gaming sector and solutions for those
- to become a recognised voice for Mobile Betting and Gaming interests and issues
Mark Gibson, Chair of the AIME Mobile Gaming Forum, said: “Mobile Gaming has become, over the last two/three years a substantial channel within digital gaming and interactive services. The industry expects the rapid upward trend to continue challenging the primacy of ‘online’ activity within two to three years. Having a forum through which mobile gaming companies can liaise with mobile carriers & manufacturers and lobby on issues and initiatives will prove to be of great benefit for the industry’s growth”.
Through the forum AIME hopes to engage with the mobile networks, manufacturers and application ‘stores’ to help members better position their gaming products in the mobile market.
