The Pharmacy Show Benefits From Mobile Marketing
Closer Still Media works with mkodo to introduce mobile channel

A response rate of 6% and conversion rate of 80% of respondents proved the decision to utilise mobile marketing as part of the communications mix for The Pharmacy Show last month was the right one.
The Pharmacy Show, held on 10-11 October 2010 and organised by Closer Still Media, is billed as the UK’s most important Pharmacy Industry event. Closer Still Media reports that this year has seen record attendance.
Their marketing team selected mobile specialists mkodo to run an SMS marketing campaign that increased both pre-registrants to the event and the conversion rate of pre-registrants to attendees.
Text messages were sent out 3 days before the event to remind pre-registrants to attend and to prompt previous registrants to attend. The previous registrants were asked to respond to register for the 2010 event and 6% replied ‘Yes’. Closer Still Media reports that 80% of these respondents were converted to attendee status.
Closer Still Media’s Lucy Pitt says: “This is the first time we have used mobile marketing within our communications mix and it has proved itself immediately. Our key aim was to improve the conversation rate of pre-registrants to attendees and this is what we achieved. Working with the professional and expert team at mkodo made the introduction of the mobile channel easy.”
mkodo’s Mark Gibson adds: “We are delighted to see the successful results achieved for The Pharmacy Show using mkodo’s mobile marketing platform. SMS was selected as the mobile tool for this event because a simple, effective communication was required and SMS remains a simple and highly effective tool.”
The announcement of these excellent results on the Pharmacy Show follows on from mkodo’s recent announcement of the relaunch of its mobile services into the pharmaceutical sector through its work with biopharmaceutical giant Pfizer UK.
