Key Skills & Attributes:
You must have the experience and maturity to communicate effectively with both engineering teams and business stakeholders.
- 5+ years’ experience in a PMO context
- Experienced in project, programme and portfolio management, resource, and risk management
- Highly hands-on approach to management
- Demonstrated success in setting up and managing a project management office.
- Accredited with Prince 2/PMP/MSP/P30 or equivalent qualification(s)
- Experienced in managing and using PSA software systems.
- Deep understanding of project management and Agile principles and methodologies
- Expert in Project/Programme management principles, method, techniques, and tools.
- Strong drive for results and a high level of resilience especially in an environment of change.
- Leadership and coaching skills
- Very good communication skills in English
About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, with a strong, collaborative relationship to the PBL Corporate PMO, the Director of PMO will be responsible for developing an integrated and high performing Project and Programme Management practice, supporting the programmes at every stage of the lifecycle. As a part of the mkodo executive management team you will have overall accountability for the successful execution of client-facing, revenue-generating programmes. You will be responsible for the project management methodology, including project, programme and portfolio reporting. Your objective would be to create clarity and drive alignment within the PMO to achieve optimum productivity and maintain a supportive, positive and passionate culture.
Main Responsibilities
This role's main responsibilities are:
- Lead the Project Management Office functions within mkodo.
- Proactively identify risks and issues on programmes and projects – advising the team on development of risk management and issue management plans.
- Maintain and develop the PMO as part of continuous improvement of project management methodology processes.
- Directly accountable for the resourcing levels within the PMO, responsible for hiring and onboarding new resource into the group.
- Support the pre-sales team in commercial aspects of Programme Delivery.
- Drive the development of project and programme management skills and capability, including recruitment and onboarding of new starters, ensuring consistent knowledge on ways of working.
- Actively participate, in conjunction with the PBL corporate PMO, in the development of best practice, policies, and procedures within the PMO.
- Conduct regular project reviews and audits.
- Ensure consistent use of project tools and systems across the delivery team, ensuring the tools support Agile delivery methodology.
- Maintain the delivery plan and track each project ensuring It is being led effectively covering areas such as financials, baseline plans etc.
- Ensure lessons learned and retrospectives on projects are collected, shared, actioned in future projects.
- Ensure project reporting is accurate and timely
- Identify, raise, and support resolution of reoccurring project issues
- Proactively identify risks and issues on programmes/projects – advising the team on the development of risk management and issue management plans.
